Terms of use

This is a translation. If it differs from the Japanese version, the Japanese version prevails.
These terms of use (the "Terms") set out the conditions for using ChordTube (the "Service") provided by its operator (the "Operator"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to the privacy policy.
1. The Service
- The Service plays YouTube videos through YouTube's embedded player and shows chords, keys, beats and sections in time with them.
- What it shows comes from automatic estimation by the Service's AI model and from edits by users. It is not guaranteed to be correct.
- The AI model may be improved. Each song shows which version of the AI model analyzed it.
- The Service is non-commercial: there are no ads and no paid features.
2. Accounts
- You can sign in with a Google account. You can view songs without signing in.
- Your display name is shown to other users, for example in edit histories. Do not use a name that is offensive or that could be mistaken for someone else.
- You are responsible for your account.
3. Your edits and contributions
- Chord charts you edit, names of playlists you create and the like ("Contributions") are published on the Service, and other users can view them, edit them further and revert them.
- You grant the Operator a free license to use your Contributions (including copying, modifying and publishing them) to provide and improve the Service, and you agree not to assert moral rights against the Operator or other users.
- To keep edit histories whole, revisions you made may remain after your account is gone.
4. AI analysis
- Signed-in users can add YouTube videos that are not on the Service yet with AI analysis. The number of songs a day and the length of videos are limited.
- Only public videos that may be embedded can be analyzed. The results are published on the Service.
- The Operator may cancel an analysis, or not publish or withdraw a result.
5. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- break the law or act against public order and morals;
- infringe the rights (including copyrights) or interests of the Operator, other users or third parties;
- vandalize the Service, for example by deliberately making chord charts wrong;
- access the Service or collect information from it in bulk by automated means;
- collect melody search results to try to reconstruct the melody of a song;
- use information from the Service for commercial purposes;
- gain unauthorized access, impersonate other users, or interfere with the operation of the Service;
- do anything else the Operator considers inappropriate.
6. YouTube videos
Videos are played with YouTube's embedded player, and playing them is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. The Operator is not responsible for the content of the videos.
7. Rights holders
If you hold rights that you believe the Service infringes, please write to the contact below. The Operator will look into it and take action, such as removing the content.
8. Suspension
If the Service is used against these Terms, the Operator may remove Contributions or suspend accounts without notice.
9. Changes to the Service
The Operator may change, suspend or end the Service without notice.
10. Disclaimer
The Operator does not guarantee that the Service is accurate, complete or useful. The Operator is not liable for any damage arising from the use of the Service, except where caused by the Operator's intent or gross negligence.
11. Changes to these Terms
The Operator may change these Terms. The changed Terms take effect when they are posted on the Service.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The district court with jurisdiction over the Operator's address has exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance over any dispute about the Service.
